April 8 Update from Chair
Dear Forensic Imaging Colleague,
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it almost feels as though the World has stopped spinning on its axis. Although for those working on the front lines of this crisis, it must feel as though the World is spinning out of control. In the U.S., the overall situation is currently very serious, with “peak resource use” currently predicted to occur on April 15.
In light of this rapidly-evolving situation, it has been difficult to plan for an uncertain future. While the ISFRI 2020 Congress is cancelled, the ISFRI Board has begun discussing several options for rescheduling the Albuquerque meeting. However, no decisions have been reached at this time. The ISFRI Board will meet again as soon as it is reasonably possible. Currently a number of ISFRI Board members (and their institutions) are focused on urgent needs related to the COVID-19 situation. The same is undoubtedly true for many of you and your hospitals, universities, and government agencies.
On behalf of my fellow ISFRI Board members, we all look forward to putting this crisis behind us and getting back to the international exchange of ideas that is our purpose as a Society. We hope to be in touch with you soon about ISFRI 2021. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to any ISFRI Board Member with your questions, concerns, or ideas.
Wherever you are, I wish you an abundance of strength, patience, and good health.
